Buying a home is very much like going on a journey or a trip. You know where you want to end up, but maybe you’re not too sure how you’re going to get there. You’ve probably heard of some terms like pre-approval or loan estimate but not sure what happens first and what comes after that. Mortgage 101
It takes a lot of people to originate a mortgage. There are loan originators, processors, lock desk specialists, underwriters and others who all contribute to originating a mortgage. In addition, there are a lot of “ingredients” in mortgages. Lock terms, mortgage insurance, credit checks, down payments, loan-to-value ratios, and other components determine the final product that you the borrower will get. First Time Home Buyer Webinars
On a regular basis, I make one-hour presentations via Zoom, where I discuss the home buying process and the financial aspects of purchasing your first home. I’ll discuss working with a real estate agent, how to make an offer on a home, how to get the best mortgage rate, why mortgage insurance does not benefit you the homeowner, the different types of mortgages, and other topics that I think everyone should understand before purchasing their first home. A Q&A session will follow so that everyone gets to talk and ask any questions they may have.
